Patient stabs Kerala doctor to death, medicos go on strike

Private and government doctors across Kerala went on strike Wednesday and brought the state’s health services to a halt after Dr Vandana Das, a 25-year-old house surgeon at Kottarakkara taluk hospital in Kollam, was stabbed to death with surgical scissors and a scalpel early in the morning by her patient when he was brought there by police for treatment of his injured legs and hands.
